Thermographic measurements

Infrared thermography is a successful, widely applicable, fast and simple method of non-contact temperature measurement and display of the thermal image of the surface of any object. Thermography uses infrared scanning, similar to video cameras, to detect changes in the surface temperatures of machines and as such is a very useful indicator of mechanical condition, friction, etc.

Details

Thermographic controls include:

The inspection is carried out using a special camera that detects thermal radiation. Electrical and mechanical equipment is inspected to determine if abnormal overheating is occurring.

Investigations:

  • bearings
  • failure of refractory material
  • clutches
  • electrical equipment
  • etc.
